It's all about?
With the upcoming 10th anniversary of September 11th, I have been thinking a lot about the firefighters and police officers and regular joes that lost their lives that day. What really got me to thinking about how brave those men and women were, is while at work today our fire alarm went off. I only had to climb up one floor to go outside, and rounding the corner I thought, "Could you imagine doing this up 96 floors carrying 100 extra pounds on your back?" What's more is could you do it knowing you may never come down, and having that sick feeling in the pit of your stomach about someone you might not be able to save? And the life in question wasn't their own, but a nameless, faceless person they just knew needed help? Could you really sacrifice yourself? As ashamed as I am to admit this, I would probably have to say no. But yet they did, fearlessly, and with determination. Please remember these folks this month and their families as the world looks back and reflects on that day. To the men and women who serve our communities across the land, I tip my hat to you all!

It's all about Halloween?
If you know me at all, you know I love to decorate for the holidays and Halloween runs a close second to Christmas. One thing I enjoy is making my decorations so that they are one of a kind. Sometimes however, my imagination and my crafting skills don't meet eye to eye and I become very frustrated with my creation. I am a perfectionist so I cannot stand to display anything I consider unfinished or done incorrectly. I have a tree in my living room that is changed out with the seasons and holidays and given that, making Halloween ornaments is a relaxing pass time. I also have a doll, I'm sure she has a name, that is displayed at Halloween, she isn't scary but rather covered with a pitiful sheet and accompanied with a plastic witch hat. I am redoing her outfit to make her stand out more and this is proving more difficult than I originally thought. But, like most projects I plunge myself into, I will work at it until it's right or I die trying. I am posting a picture of her hat because as of now, that's all I've accomplished. I love fall itself too, the crisp air and all the good food and treats that come with it. I am a complete sucker for a caramel apple!

What it's all about?
So I just finished reading the Boy who Came back from Heaven, and I must say that was an extremely moving book. What I have to comment on however, was that it seems to be a constant that children are more capable of being in-tuned with spirituality than we often give them credit for. I would strongly suggest if you haven't read this book, that you do. However, I will say this, if you are not a Christian, please do not begin reading this with preplanned skepticism. I believe 100% what this child says, if anything you can look at his pictures and see it in his face. What I would ask of my Christian brothers and sisters, is that we all continue to pray for this child and most importantly his family. It occurred to me while reading this book, that Alex is not the one who we should pray for the most, it's his parent, and brothers and sisters. I cannot imagine what struggles they face on a daily basis. So for anyone who reads this, what it's all about? Today is all about prayer, praying for someone who you may never met, and doing it because when the Lord moves you, you should listen.
